About

It’s about telling the story.

Based in New York City since 2021, Michael Dunaevsky is a proficient Pianist, Composer, Film Scorer, and Teacher. His last project “Stories, Vol. 1” was met with widespread praise, combining multiple musical stories into one overarching story, inviting the musicians to become storytellers through conversation in improvisation.

Growing up as a classical Pianist, Michael has crafted his music to incorporate his classical impressionist inspirations, such as Ravel and Debussy, with his love for spiritual melodies from artists such as John Coltrane and Kenny Garrett, ultimately seeking to speak to God and his audience with pure sincerity and imagery.

Michael has performed in festivals such as the 2023 BRIC JazzFest and the 2018 and 2020 Jazz in the Pines Festival, along with working with clients such as PepsiCo, Church of the City New York, Rachel Snyder Hospitality, and Unfortunately, i Love You. Studying with masters such as Reggie Workman, Joanne Brackeen, Dave Kikoski and Darcy James Argue, Michael recently graduated with a BFA from The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.
